A Denver native, Karen grew up in Dallas but moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts in 1971 starting Frameworks, the first do-it-yourself picture framing store in New England. Service on the boards of various community, business and cultural organizations followed, including a year as Chair of the Board for the Cambridge Family YMCA.
Karen joined the Rotary Club of Cambridge in 1987 and served as President in 1993-94. Following her term as District 7930 Governor in 1997-98, she served as District Trainer from 1998-2002. Joining the Rotary Club of Saratoga Springs, New York in 2003, Karen has served as District 7190 Rotary Foundation Committee Chair from 2005-2008. Involvement with the Rotary Leadership Institute and the Open World Program continues. And in 2007, Karen began serving as Rotary Foundation Alumni Coordinator for Zone 31.
When time permits, Karen travels to New Orleans and Nashville to visit her four step-children and ten step-grandchildren. She also loves to play golf and tries valiantly to break 100 at one of the abundant golf courses surrounding Saratoga Springs.
